Juha-Pekka

Managing Director, Noretron Components

The key theme of my working career has always been a strong focus on sales. I live and breathe sales and enjoy interacting with people. I have a vocational qualification in business. I worked during my studies, e.g. at Toshiba, where I got an excellent insight into the legalities of sales. The performance standards were very high and I learned a lot about for example new customer acquisition.

In the early days of my career, I worked within sports equipment and products field. I was hired to a high-class job where I got to travel around the world looking for new customers, maintaining customer relationships and networking with professionals and influencers in the sports industry fairs. After this phase, I moved to the AV sales and I have enjoyed working in the field ever since.

After that I worked, e.g. as an entrepreneur in 2009–2015. The company focused on AV sales, contracting and solution sales. These times were challenging, but it helped me understand what responsibility for results and comprehensive business management means. During 2015–2022, I worked in different companies in the AV sector in solution sales.

The most exciting turning point in my career so far happened when I was contacted by Boreo and asked about my interest in a key employee role in Boreo's subsidiary Noretron Components. After discussing more about the position and Boreo's management model based on independence of subsidiaries, I was convinced that the offered role is exactly what I am looking for. I was especially pleased of the fact that Boreo invests heavily in developing capabilities and enabling career paths. It didn't take long after starting in the new role that I was already offered the opportunity to advance from Sales Director of Noretron Components to company's Managing Director. I am really excited about this opportunity!

When I started working in the Group, I felt really positive about how I was welcomed and acknowledged. The atmosphere is warm and very open all the way up to the top management. I feel that everyone is willing to help and I get extensive coaching support from different parties, which is not a self-evidence in an MD role. In our Group, the autonomy of the Managing Directors is respected, but it is possible to make extensive use of the expertise of the Group's professionals, e.g. in financial, HR and sustainability matters.

I currently feel that I am professionally in my dream job. My learning curve has already been huge in a short time period. Noretron Components has insane amount of potential and now it is the time to leverage it. My goal is to double the size of the company in the next five years!”
